Job Description Broad Function and Purpose of Position: The Warehouse Coordinator - Wave Planner is responsible for allocating orders, releasing work to warehouse floor, balancing workflow, and ensuring inbound and outbound truck turn times are within acceptable levels.
Work is performed independently under the general direction of the Warehouse Manager.
Specific Responsibilities (Includes but not limited to): Participate in the testing phases related to go live preparation including configuration, training, cut over planning, and startup of SAP EWM.
Manage order cuts and communicate to customers.
Release work to the work queue in a manner that ensures maximum levels of interleaving, productivity, and carrier turn times.
Prioritize individual Lift Truck Operator (LTO) tasks along with Dock Leads.
Ensure dock office is utilizing inbound and outbound dock optimization functionality for each receipt and order.
Run labor reports and review with Warehouse Manager.
Review/update base priorities weekly to reduce manual priority changes in the work queue.
Review/Update product code velocity zone assignments along with Warehouse Manager.
Review/update optimal static and dynamic pick locations along with Warehouse Manager.
Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and safety programs.
Continually evaluate effectiveness of systems and recommend changes where appropriate.
Review orders in the queue, troubleshoot, correct systems problems, and resolve product and order shortages.
Train all levels of users on relevant systems.
Optimize production floor output in the wave plan office navigating the warehouse system with a high degree of technical competency.
Advise Account Representatives of orders in jeopardy.
Monitor area capacity and set schedule so as not to exceed the area and work centers capabilities while meeting customer requirements.
Stage warehouse floor with orders and release workable orders.
Communicate needs and scheduling conflicts to Operations and Customer Services.
Ensure daily commitments are scheduled to meet customer requirements.
Evaluate constraints and communicate with Operations teams and Customer Services to resolve issues.
Monitor the daily and weekly schedules to ensure workability in advance of order dispatch.
Confirm with shipping schedule adherence.
Resolve issues interfering with on-time completion of orders and escalate issues which cannot be resolved.
Communicate with Operations/Customer Services on issues of non-workable orders that have been converted to outbound delivery orders.
Monitor warehouse performance and communicate to Warehouse management on issues of reliability.
Assume leadership and daily task responsibilities for Warehouse Manager when not available.
Performs other duties as directed by Warehouse Manager.
Qualifications Qualifications/Experience: Education: High school diploma or GED certificate.
Years Experience: 4-5 years experience in a distribution environment which must have included warehouse and logistics coordination, use of inventory software, and Microsoft Office products.
Special Requirements/Competencies: Understands all Sika and Marion SOP’s and uses as a manufacturing tool.
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
Proficiency in data entry; attention to detail; effective organization skills.
Must be able to maintain an excellent attendance record.
Must be flexible to work any shift and overtime as necessary.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
