Job Description Broad Function and Purpose of Position: This position will provide leadership for strategic and tactical activities for the Marion, Ohio Operation.
This position is tasked with the efficient, safe, and environmentally correct operation and growth of the Marion facility.
Mentorship of direct reports is a key component to the growth of the plant.
The Director of Operations will lead, direct, and respond to the needs of the organization and its Employees, while driving actions for success.
Specific Responsibilities: Display active leadership in advancing the Sika SAFE culture in Marion pursuing the objectives of zero injuries and 100% Employee Engagement.
Attain annual safety goals through a solid understanding of safety management as well as the ability to convey and enforce safety rules and procedures.
Participates as an active member of various Sales Leadership Teams as required.
Possesses a comprehensive knowledge and executes continuous improvement concepts including statistical process control and lean manufacturing.
Assists in product program management by reviewing plans and specifications while supporting timetables established based on the customer needs.
Coordinates strategies with sales, engineering, R&D, customer service, and Corporate Operations teams.
Attain annual expense and budget goals by achieving promised actions and benefits.
Lead the creation of three-year and five-year business plans for site growth and development.
Manage capital expenditures, profit and loss, and balance sheet activities.
Performs functions inherent in all management positions including recruitment, performance evaluation, coaching, training, and development.
Fosters an issue-free work environment and provides support and direction to solve employee relation problems.
Directly manage the Director of Production, the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, the Process Engineering Manager, and the EHS Manager.
Indirectly supports the Production Managers, the Quality Manager, the Materials Manager, the Plant Controller, Engineers, and the Human Resources Manager.
Ensures compliance to all local, state, and federal regulations.
Perform other work and projects as required by the Senior Vice President Sealants & Adhesives Manufacturing.
Qualifications Qualifications/Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: At least 10 years in leading a manufacturing site.
Special Requirements/Competencies: Must be a well-educated manufacturing leader who can push forward the necessary strategies and programs to increase quality, productivity, and customer service.
This person must possess excellent communication skills, which are characterized by sincerity, persuasiveness, and clarity of thought.
Strong leader who manages fairly and consistently when applying rules, policies, and procedures.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
High levels of personal initiative, energy, and ownership for success.
Goal oriented, well organized, with excellent communication skills.
Proficient with computers & software applications.
