Group Lead - Paint

Provide direction on proper painting and blasting procedures; follow established company policies, procedures or other guidelines as they relate to assigned area; implement systems, policies and procedures.
Plan, assign, coordinate, and review work for painters and blasters.
Prioritize painting and blast priorities to increase internal customer on-time delivery requirements.
Drive and safety, quality, continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts of paint and blast area.
Review paint inventory and use, report needs on a weekly basis and support/drive Kanban efforts and processes.
Inspect product prior to removal from blast and paint lines to ensure quality products are released to shop production floor.
Ensure material handling is adequate and protects the product from scratches, dents, and or any other mark.
Implement quality initiatives through inspection using documentation and tag system.
Coordinate and maintain paint and blast department to insure operations are conducted in a clean and safe environment.
Responsible for cross training and training of employees.
Perform and participate in employee communication per company plan.
Work with HR and ESH, Facility and Paint Manager on employee issues/concerns.
Provide daily updates to ES&H Facility Manager regarding work progress.

Ensure all touch-up and rework (Sand, patch, prepare surfaces and paint.
) are completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
Ensure that cleaning schedule is current and up to date.
Ensure that all logs and inspections are completed daily, per shift and per person.
Employee will lead all aspects of the department personnel on proper use and care for tools, equipment and supplies used in the paint and blast department.
Employee will lead all aspects of the department personnel proper use for reading and understanding paperwork pertaining to the mixing of colors.
Handle all maintenance and cleaning of paint equipment.
Examines and test solutions, paints, products, and work pieces to ensure specifications are met.
Employee must have good organizational skills and keep a clean environment.
