*Assembly Supervisor – 3rd Shift *

We have an immediate opening for an Assembly Supervisor.
This role is responsible for the supervision, training, and work performed by light assembly or other assigned personnel to ensure proper processing of orders or other related duties involving a wide range of domestic or foreign shipments of the company’s products.
*Essential Functions and Basic Duties * *Assumes responsibility for planning and scheduling workflow for the department.
* * Plan, schedule, and assign work for the most effective use of personnel.
* Make reassignments to maintain workflow.
* Instruct personnel and check work to ensure quality and safety requirements are met.
* Coordinate activities and projects.
* Ensure availability of information, items, and supplies.
* Investigate causes of delays and maintain quality standards.
* Correct problems within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
* Advise manager and team members of unusual difficulties or bottlenecks which hinder production.
* Take agreed-upon action to resolve problems.
* Work from assembly/production orders, schedules, releases, computer printouts, prints, specifications, carrier and foreign customer, government or other requirements, record, file or related data and written or verbal information.
* Utilizes department equipment as necessary to instruct personnel in proper methods, procedures and practices.
*Assumes responsibility for departmental training and supervision of the department personnel.
* * Train, supervise, and/or coordinate activities as required and by standard or special requirements.
* Ensure all department personnel are properly trained and supervised on proper department operations.
* Maintain harmonious employee relations.
* Resolve complaints, advise on Company policy and/or as to schedules, methods, standards of performance or other matters affecting employee's work.
* Consult and advise the manager on work performance or other considerations.
* Recommend hiring, transfers, rate changes, or terminations as warranted.
* Maintain and update assigned files or record information as required.
* Ensure that all time, production, or other required information is properly recorded and/or distributed to others as needed.
*Assumes responsibility for communications with other departments.
* * Work with other department personnel when required.
* Provide information and perform similar duties for other departments that directly impact departmental operations.
* Make recommendations to meet specified or unusual crating/shipping requirements.
* Perform liaison duties to review and/or advise other departments of incorrect order information and/or corrections needed for engineering prints.
* Work with quality control personnel to maintain or improve quality standards.
* Attend scheduled or other meetings as required.
* Participate, make reports, and provide information tending to cost reduction, quality standards or other areas of mutual concern.
* Keep up-to-date with the latest information relating to the department’s activities.
*Assumes responsibility for inventory of department supplies and proper maintenance of department equipment.
* * Requisition and follow-up on purchase orders as necessary to maintain adequate standard or special supplies.
Arrange with outside service representatives for repairs on department equipment.
* Ensure that all inventories of supplies, materials, and storage and work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly condition.
* Ensure that all work equipment is maintained in proper working condition and stored properly.
*Education/Certification* High School graduate or equivalent.
Associates Degree preferred but not required.
*Experience Required * Five to ten years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
*Required Knowledge* Manufacturing practices and procedures.
Quality practices and procedures.
Microsoft Office basics and ERP (Syteline) knowledge.
*Skills/Abilities* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to train, develop, coach, and mentor department personnel.
Well-organized with good time management and project management skills.
Ability to work in an ever-changing, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to problem solve and implement continuous improvement strategies.
*Physical Activities and Requirements of this Position * Standing on feet for long periods.
Ability to lift 10-50 pounds.
Ability to bend, stretch, and reach frequently.
