Job Summary:
The Financial Analyst will serve as a key business partner, working with departmental budget owners to ensure timely and accurate financial results while providing clarification around variances within the monthly financial statements.
This position will also oversee cost roll updates, cost roll calculation, inventory controllership and support the annual physical inventory.
This position will serve as an active member of the quarterly forecast and annual budget processes.
Highly cross functional role with exposure to various areas of the business.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties include, but not limited to:
Assist in month end closing process by preparing journal entries, performing various month end analytics, and assisting in preparing various financial reports
Perform month end activities within close cycle timing
Maintain the general ledger by identifying and correcting inconsistent data
Perform quarterly analysis and reporting
Perform detailed financial analysis, identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement
Provide recommendations related to findings from financial analyses and understanding production needs
Analyze general ledger data versus budget or forecast and review variances by considering sources, current business activities and historical trends
Perform operational reporting to support adherence to budgets, awareness of cost savings accomplishments, and cost savings opportunities
Standard reporting and reconciliation for inventory and scrap
Collaborate with various cross-functional teams to identify inventory issues and root cause
Key individual in annual standard cost updates, including new product costing, ensuring proper inventory valuation and physical inventory management
Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies; maintain costs through the year
Work collaboratively with other functions and support reporting from a business level unit to a corporate level consolidation
Participate and help organize and support annual physical inventory
Support regular budgeting and forecasting planning initiatives
Support the requirements of internal and external audit activities
Partner with other members of the finance department to support team goals
Ad hoc financial analysis to challenge the status quo; proactively look for financial relationships to be evaluated to improve operational performance
Other ad hoc analysis as requested
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
Minimum 1-3 years related experience in a (preferably automotive) high volume manufacturing environment
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organization
Self-motivated individual able to recommend solutions and work independentl
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work effectively and professionally at all levels
Understanding of General Accounting and Cost Accounting principles
