*2nd Shift CNC Machinist *
We have an exciting career opportunity for a CNC Machinist for *2nd shift*.
This position is responsible for operating production machinery to produce quality products.
Inspects parts visually and uses measuring tools to ensure compliance to drawings and specifications.
Completes production functions in accordance with established quality and production standards.
Performs re-inspections and re-work as requested.
Ensures that work area, machines, and equipment are clean and well maintained.
Plan and perform a wide variety of machine tool operations connected with all types of production projects to manufacture centrifugal pump parts, using engine and turret lathes, chucking machines, automatic lathes, radial, multiple and single spindle drill presses, vertical turret lathes, milling machines and various types of special purpose machines and equipment.
*Essential Functions and Basic Duties *
* Operates production machinery to complete assigned tasks.
Sets up machines with data provided by the
Company.
* Understands the basic principles of production operations.
* Sets up all production machinery and equipment.
* Inspects parts visually and uses measuring tools to ensure compliance to specifications and drawings.
* Performs re-inspections and re-work as requested.
* Maintains machinery including cleaning and making necessary adjustments.
Informs management of any significant problems with machinery.
* Setups are many and varied and range from ordinary to difficult and unusual, requiring the determination of methods of holding large and irregular shaped parts and castings involving considerable blocking, clamping, use of shims, supports, parallels, special attachments and holding devices.
* Completes special projects as assigned.
* Completes reports and documents accurately and timely as required.
*Education/Certification*
High school graduate or equivalent.
*Experience Required *
At least one year of experience in operating CNC manufacturing equipment.
*Required Knowledge*
Understanding of basic principles of machine operation.
Understanding of production standards and procedures.
*Skills/Abilities*
Quality orientation and attentive to detail.
Good manual dexterity.
Cooperative and willing to assist others.
Ability to closely follow written and verbal instructions
