Position Description: Mack’s Co-Op opportunity is a multi-term process that asks students to participate in four terms total to complete their Cooperative Education experience.
During this time students will participate in and learn processes of the company from producing our NPCA approved quality products, engineering principles and practices before participating in a capstone project.
Students will balance classroom theory with periods of practical, hands-on experience.
o Term 1: Participate in Production Processes – Full Time
o Terms 2 & 3: Quality Control and Engineering
o Term 4: Capstone Project- design, engineer and build a public service project
Requirements:
Qualifications
• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Field Operations, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Minimum grade point average of 3.
0 or greater
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
• Basic understanding of mechanical design tasks
• Ability to understand mechanical drawings.
• Provide mechanical or civil engineering support for associated departments and/or projects.
• Ability to understand and apply structural mechanics to predict internal stresses and structural instabilities
Essential Functions
• Performs engineering-related work requiring the application of education study and standard techniques and procedures in manufacturing
• Coordinates with representatives of engineering, production, etc.
to plan and complete assigned tasks and/or projects
• Provide support for process development, process improvement
• Provide technical support to operations teams to assist troubleshooting manufacturing and production processes and resolve product quality issues
• Maintains and communicates an accurate accounting of tasks and/or projects
• Work output is expected to be consistent with Mack Industries quality and production goals and objectives
• Interface with multi-functioning teams including production, field service, engineering, quality control, installation, among others
Environment Conditions and Physical Strain
• Construction environment with seasonal weather conditions, office conditions
• Position requires indoor and outdoor activities
• Due to the nature of operations the level of noise, dust and dirt can be high
Behavioral Traits
• Interested candidates are willing to engage in a wide spectrum of mechanical and civil engineering principles and should be passionate about mechanical and/or civil engineering
