*Job Description*
The Plant Manager directs, oversees, and optimizes the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on safety, quality, diversity, and continuous improvement.
Establishes systems to collect metrics, analyze results, and set performance targets that will meet the goals of the organization.
*Plant Manager Job Responsibilities and Duties:*
* Provide daily oversight including direction, support, and vision to the following departments: Quality, Facilities, and Production
* Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions.
* Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends.
* Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.
* Manages weekly staff management meeting.
* Help manufacturing staff achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results.
* Achievement of plan and financial objectives which consists of gainsharing and Income Statement objectives.
* Weekly forecasting and management of revenue and costs to assure business unit is successful in meeting the established goals.
* Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes.
* Foster a positive culture of employee ownership values and mutual respect.
* Provide a strong focus on proven manufacturing fundamentals combined with active utilization of visual factory goal setting and progress monitoring.
Champion “continuous improvement” and utilization of ERP system
* Key contributor to strategic plan and associated budgets.
Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
* Implements cost-saving strategies and techniques.
* Evaluates the condition of production equipment and advises on the technology needs to keep the company competitive.
* Project Management: Works with sales and customers to establish the project plans (human resources, cycle times, equipment requirements, etc.
) to successfully launch a project on time.
