_ *Asphalt Paving Foreman Job Description* *General Description:* The Foreman is responsible for the daily management of the asphalt paving crew.
This crew performs asphalt paving work, primarily for municipal, industrial and commercial customers.
The Foreman is responsible for the oversight of the project from start to finish.
This job requires strong work ethic, willingness to work long hours, work in hot environments and the ability to do multiple tasks at once.
This industry is fast paced and requires a person who can work more than 40 hours per week in the summer.
*Specific Job Duties and* *Responsibilities* * Create a daily plan to complete work in a timely and quality manner.
The foreman shall be able to communicate this plan to all essential personnel.
* Ordering daily asphalt tonnage with our Asphalt Plant and continually manage the materials needed.
Monitor project quality.
* Communicate with asphalt plant and trucks regularly.
Control the flow of material to the job site and ensure proper material thickness and tons laid.
* Resolve problems when they arise.
* Report on progress to managers.
* Communicate with project stakeholder/owners.
* Set up and control the jobsite traffic in a safe manner.
* Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and scopes of work is required.
Complete all paper work necessary to that day’s job at the end of the day.
Make sure this paper work is turned in the proper office personnel so it can be recorded.
