Teacher Aide experience would be helpful.

92 JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Classroom Aide - Preschool RESPONSIBLE TO: Building Administrator/Classroom Teacher/Director of Student Services DEPARTMENT: Aides/Clerks CLASSIFICATION: PK/SLC Aides LENGTH OF CONTRACT: Nine-month contract - 190 days at 7 hours per day – total of 1330 hours per year GENERAL DUTIES: The Preschool Aide will work closely with the lead teacher to create a stimulating and safe learning environment for preschool-aged children.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and a patient and caring demeanor.
This position offers an opportunity to play a vital role in the development and well-being of young learners.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent; early childhood education certification or coursework is a plus.
Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool or early childhood setting.
Knowledge of early childhood development principles and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.
Passion for working with children and promoting their holistic growth and development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect and build rapport with young learners.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational software and technology.
First Aid and CPR certification is desirable.
SPECIFIC DUTIES: Assist the lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities for preschool-aged children.
Engage children in educational and play-based activities, fostering their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Supervise and ensure the safety of children during indoor and outdoor activities, including field trips and playground time.
Support children with daily routines, including toileting, handwashing, and snack and meal times.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes kindness, respect, and cooperation among children.
Assist in the preparation and organization of classroom materials, supplies, and resources.
Provide individualized attention and support to children who may require additional assistance or have special needs.
Observe and document children's behavior, progress, and milestones, communicating with parents and the lead teacher as needed.
Collaborate with the lead teacher and other team members to create a well-rounded curriculum and learning experiences.
Help maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
Assist in the implementation of behavior management strategies, promoting positive behavior and conflict resolution skills.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required.
Build positive relationships with parents and families, fostering open and effective communication.
