POSITION SUMMARY
To provide testing services and support to students, faculty, and staff.
Maintain adequate and accurate testing records under the direction of the Testing Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide excellent customer service to prospective and current students, faculty, and staff.
Greet visitors, answer questions about testing services via phone, email, and in-person.
Schedule and proctor placement tests, course make-up exams, accommodated exams (for students with disabilities), ACT, and select credit by exam following instructor and third-party requirements.
Receive and secure makeup and accommodated exams from instructors and outside parties such as Ohio State University Marion and other institutions.
Notify instructors and other appropriate parties when exams are completed and ready for pickup.
Maintain a secure testing environment and notify Testing and Tutoring Center Coordinator of any potential cheating or other violations of the Academic Misconduct Policy.
Keep accurate student records with a high level of detail.
Check students in and out of testing center using online scheduling system.
Enter placement test and technology skills test scores into student information system database promptly and maintain hard copy records according to the College record retention policy.
Maintain user proficiency for software programs, systems, and databases used by the College.
Work collaboratively with Admissions and Advising staff to ensure seamless onboarding process for new students.
Assist with Disability Services testing accommodations, such as preparing materials in alternate formats, reading tests aloud, etc.
Inventory testing center materials and notify the Testing and Tutoring Coordinator when materials and supplies need to be replenished.
Prepare study material packets for placement tests, ACT, and other standardized tests.
Respond to inquiries from students, College employees and customers while maintaining standards of confidentiality and privacy, in a timely manner.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the College, FERPA, student records, and any other protected documentation.
HOURS/SCHEDULING
This is a part-time, on-call position up to 29 hours per week.
Weekly hours will vary and are not guaranteed.
Flexibility between 8am-7pm Monday through Thursday and 8am-1pm Friday highly desired.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s Degree in Business, Office Administration, Information Technology, or related required, or high school diploma with related experience in lieu of degree.
Excellent customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to learn/use other College systems such as PowerCampus, Watermark, and Accudemia.
Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues related to testing.
Strong organization skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Strong sense of integrity and ethical behavior; experience working with confidential information strongly preferred.
Experience working in a college setting desired.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of people.
Pay Rate
$15/hr – High school diploma with related experience OR Associate’s degree
$16/hr – Associate’s degree with related experience
$17/hr – Bachelor’s degree
$18/hr – Bachelor’s degree with related experience
ADA SPECIFICATIONS
This position is classified as Staff and will teach in a wide range of educational venues to provide quality instruction to a diverse student population for the college, primarily in a classroom or office setting.
